Marios
Chalkiadakis
was born in Iraklion, Crete. After winning a scholarship
from EOMMEX he went to Sweden in 1988 to study glass blowing
in Orrefors. During his studies there, he practised in several
glass blowing workshops. In 1991 he went to West Surrey College
of Art and Design, England,
where
he studied three dimensional design on glass. He graduated
in 1994. After finishing college, he took part in the New
Designers Exhibition in 1994, where he was recognised as being
one of the top 40 designers of that year. |

He
has also taken part in many exhibitions in England and Sweden.
Since 1995 he has had his own workshop in Crete, where he produces
work using his favourite material, glass. |

Natassa
Papadogamvraki
was born in Iraklion, Crete.In 1989 she did a six month
course in Orrefors, Sweden,
in glass blowing. Then she worked for a year in a glass
blowing studio in Sweden. In 1990she studied three dimensional
design, specialising in producing glassware, at the West
Surrey College of Art and Design, England. In 1993, after
wining a scholarship from EOMMEX and the Schilizzi Foundation,
she carried on her studies at the same college, in a post
graduate course in designing and manufacturing glass, in
the field of architecture.

Natassa
has taken part in many exhibitions both in England and Sweden.
In
1994 she was among the best 100 artists in the field of
glass making that year and the same year she got a distinction
from the Museum of Modern Art in Dusseldorf, in a glass
sculpture competition. In 1995 Natassa and Marios opened
their own workshop in Anogia, Crete.
